The Trap Door - ZX Spectrum Game

The Trap Door is an adventure puzzle game based on the children's TV series. It was developed by Don Priestley and published by Piranha in 1986. The game is playable on the ZX Spectrum 48K and supports Kempston Joystick and Redefinable Keyboard controls. The objective of the game is for the protagonist, Berk, to complete up to five bizarre tasks (four in Learner mode) quickly and accurately before the anger of the Bad Tempered Thing boils over. Each task is completed by sending an offering upstairs on the dumb waiter for the Thing to accept. The game features 'orrible monstrosities lurking under the trap door, which have useful roles in completing Berk's tasks. However, the challenge lies in figuring out which monster is needed for each task. Opening the trap door without the correct monster can be a time-waster and a danger to Berk's life and limb. Additionally, leaving the trap door open causes spooks to fly out, and Berk must feed them to get rid of them. Boni the skull provides useful advice, while Drutt the Spider gets in Berk's way and eats worms.
