Tai-Pan is a 1987 arcade adventure game developed by Sentient Software Ltd and published by Ocean Software Ltd. It is available in English language. The game is set in the year 1841, during the time when traders from Britain, Europe, and America sailed the waters of the East in search of their fortunes. The player takes on the role of a merchant, known as the Tai-Pan, who aims to amass great fortunes and monopolize the trade in the China seas. However, the journey is not without challenges as the hostile waters, weather conditions, and pirates pose constant threats to the player's ships and profits.
