Batman: The Caped Crusader is an arcade adventure game released in 1988. It was developed by Special FX Software Ltd and published by Ocean Software Ltd. The game features two separate plots revolving around Batman's deadliest enemies - The Penguin and The Joker. As Batman, the player must shut down an umbrella factory being used as a cover for The Penguin's plan to take over the world with an army of robot penguins. Additionally, Robin has mysteriously disappeared, and Batman must unravel the mystery, save Robin, and defeat The Joker. The game presents a comic strip-like interface with multiple overlaid panels and allows players to freely explore and interact with various locations while solving puzzles. Batman's utility screen provides access to objects and control icons for manipulation.
