Black Magic is a classic action-adventure game released in 1987, set in the dark fantasy world of MariGold. The kingdom has fallen under the rule of the evil Red Warlock, Zahgrim, who has turned the once vibrant lands into a desolate place filled with demons and despair. Players take on the role of a former wizard's apprentice, tasked with overthrowing Zahgrim and restoring peace to MariGold.

The story revolves around the protagonist's quest to find the six magical eyes of Anakar, a wise wizard turned to stone by Zahgrim. These eyes are scattered throughout the kingdom, and collecting them is key to discovering the secret to defeating the warlock. The player must navigate various terrains, battling demons and rescuing prisoners trapped in magical cells.

The gameplay involves strategic collection of resources such as food, arrows, and spells. Various spells like Blink, Chill, and Vanish provide unique abilities to overcome obstacles and enemies. Players must also manage their health and food supplies carefully, as these are critical to survival in the harsh landscape of MariGold.

As players progress, they gain experience points that allow them to advance through different magical classes, from Apprentice to the powerful Necromancer. Each class unlocks new spells and abilities, enhancing the player's chances against Zahgrim's forces. The ultimate goal is to reach Zahgrim's dark castle and confront him in a final showdown.
