Joe Blade II is a classic action game released in 1988, set in a dystopian London in the year 1995. The city is overrun by punks, thugs, and muggers, leaving the citizens too terrified to leave their homes. The protagonist, Joe Blade, is a media celebrity and pop idol tasked with cleaning up the streets using his hand-to-hand combat skills.
The gameplay involves navigating through the city, taking down punks by kicking them in the head. Players must defeat about 100 punks to encourage the rest to change their ways. Additionally, Joe Blade must rescue sixteen citizens trapped in the chaos, which requires solving various sub-games.
The sub-games are puzzle-based, requiring players to complete sequences of numbers. The challenges include matching numbers, swapping them, and forming specific sequences under time constraints. These puzzles add an extra layer of strategy to the game's action-oriented core.
