3D Arcade Strategy Game Quazatron for ZX Spectrum

Quazatron, released in 1986 by Hewson Consultants, is a 3D arcade strategy game developed by Graftgold Ltd. The game takes place in the underground city of Quazatron on the planet Quartech, where players control KLP-2, a droid tasked with deactivating hostile alien droids.

Players can destroy the alien droids using various methods, including laser fire, ramming, or using an experimental Grapple Device. The Grapple Device allows players to dismantle droids and use their parts to enhance KLP-2's capabilities.

The game features a unique grappling mechanic where players must engage the enemy droid's security circuit to succeed. The objective is to turn as many lights to your color as possible by shooting pulses at them. Successful grappling allows players to acquire parts like Drive, Power, Weapon, Chassis, and Devices from enemy droids.

Quazatron's gameplay is inspired by the C64 game Paradroid. It has received high praise, including a 94% rating from Crash magazine. The game also features a sequel, Magnetron, which introduces a different grappling game.
