Action platformer game Kong's Revenge

Kong's Revenge is a platform action game released in 1991 by Zigurat Software. The game is set in Manhattan, where the giant gorilla Kong returns to the city with a vengeance. Players take on the role of Mike, who must save his kidnapped girlfriend held captive on a skyscraper rooftop under construction.

The gameplay involves Mike battling through six stages. In the first five stages, players must defeat Kong's five smaller gorilla minions by dismantling platforms to make them fall. The gorillas throw wooden and metal barrels to obstruct Mike's path, with wooden barrels being destructible and metal ones not.

The game challenges players with various traps and platforms that require switches to be correctly positioned to allow passage. Once the minions are defeated, Mike faces Kong on the rooftop, armed with a machine gun. Shooting wooden barrels grants energy, while shooting metal ones depletes it.

Developed for platforms like ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC, the game was programmed by Angel Alda and illustrated by Angel Luis Sánchez. It features classic platformer elements with a focus on strategic barrel avoidance and platform navigation.
