Rogue Trooper is a video game released in 1986 by Piranha (MacMillan), based on the comic series from 2000AD. Set on the war-torn planet of Nu Earth, players take on the role of Rogue, a genetically engineered soldier. The planet is devastated by chemical warfare, making it uninhabitable for most, but Rogue is designed to survive in its toxic environment.

The plot revolves around Rogue's quest to find and expose the traitor responsible for the Quartz massacre, where his entire regiment was betrayed and destroyed. His only companions are the bio-chips of his fallen comrades, embedded in his equipment. These chips, named Helm, Gunnar, and Bagman, provide advice and support throughout the game.

Players must search for eight vid-tapes scattered across the inhospitable terrain of Nu Earth. These tapes hold crucial evidence needed to identify the traitor. The game involves strategic exploration and combat, as Rogue navigates through hostile territories filled with enemies from both the Nort and Souther factions.

Rogue Trooper's gameplay is enhanced by the unique personalities of the bio-chip companions. Each chip offers distinct advantages: Helm provides helmet protection, Gunnar enhances firepower, and Bagman supplies ammunition and equipment. The game is a blend of action and strategy, requiring players to utilize the abilities of each bio-chip effectively to survive and complete their mission.
