Savage is a classic action game released in 1988, developed by Probe Software Ltd and published by Firebird Software Ltd. The game is set in a dark and foreboding labyrinth filled with demons and ghouls that the protagonist, Savage, must navigate through. Armed with a battle axe, players engage in hand-to-hand combat to fight their way out of the dungeons.

The gameplay is divided into three distinct levels, each presenting unique challenges. In the first level, Savage battles through the dungeons, facing mutant monsters that yield weapons upon defeat. The second level shifts to a 3D viewpoint as Savage traverses Death Valley, avoiding monoliths and attacking ghosts.

The third level introduces a new dynamic where Savage summons an eagle to assist in rescuing his imprisoned Maiden. The eagle flies through the labyrinth, collecting energy and battling demons. Players must strategically control the eagle to succeed.

Featuring hyper-active sprites and stunning sound effects by David Whittaker, Savage offers a visually and aurally engaging experience. The game challenges players to master combat and strategy to overcome the dark forces and rescue the Maiden.
