Ranble is an action-packed shoot 'em up game inspired by the classic arcade game Scramble. Developed by Kevman3D, this game challenges players to pilot a fighter-bomber across a rugged terrain, aiming to cause chaos and destruction. While the primary objective may seem straightforward, the game introduces various obstacles that require strategic thinking and quick reflexes.
The gameplay involves navigating through waves of enemy ships and missiles, all while managing a limited fuel supply. Players must bomb fuel tanks scattered across the landscape to replenish their fuel, adding an extra layer of complexity to the mission. The scrolling terrain, a technical achievement in NextBASIC for the ZX Spectrum Next, provides a dynamic backdrop to the intense action.
Ranble is not a direct clone of Scramble but a unique interpretation that began as a personal challenge for the developer. The game retains the essence of its inspiration while incorporating new elements that enhance the experience. The vibrant graphics and engaging mechanics make it a standout title for fans of the genre.
Released in 2022, Ranble showcases the capabilities of the ZX Spectrum Next, offering a nostalgic yet fresh experience for players. With its challenging gameplay and retro aesthetic, it appeals to both seasoned gamers and newcomers alike. The game is available in English and continues to captivate audiences with its thrilling action and strategic depth.

Fly your fighter-bomber on a mission to pointlessly wreak havoc across the undulating terrain in this Scramble-inspired arcade classic. Think its easy? Waves of attacking ships, missiles and a limited amount of fuel that you have to remember to refill (easy to forget when under mass attack) by bombing fuel tanks are all designed to keep you on your toes! This version is my take on the game, written entirely in NextBASIC for the ZX Spectrum Next. It's not an exact 'clone', and it started out just being a personal challenge to see if I could get a scrolling terrain working in NextBASIC (then I just kept going)
