U.N. Squadron is a side-scrolling shooter game released in 1990 by Capcom. Set against a backdrop of political turmoil in the Middle East, the game features a group of mercenaries known as the U.N. Players can choose from three pilots, each with unique aircraft and abilities. Mickey Simon pilots the F-14 Tomcat, excelling in aerial combat. Greg Gates flies the A-10, specializing in ground attacks, while Shin Kazama operates the versatile F-20 Tiger Shark, effective in both air and ground combat.

The game involves purchasing weapons and upgrades from a munitions store using money earned during missions. Players must strategically select weapons like the 16-Way Shot, Bulpup missiles, and Napalm to enhance their combat capabilities.

Combat missions require players to navigate through hostile environments, destroying enemy forces to earn cash and power-ups. At the end of each level, players face powerful bosses, making strategic weapon use crucial for success.
