ColourClash

Colour Clash is a puzzle game released in 1983, developed by David J. Anderson and Ian Morrison. The game is designed for the ZX Spectrum platform and published by Romik Software. It challenges players with a series of phases that test reaction and skill, incorporating elements of strategy and timing.

The game is divided into four distinct phases. In Phase One, players must fill in squares by maneuvering a brush around them. Each subsequent completion of this phase doubles the score, and players are given opportunities to earn bonus points upon filling all squares.

Phase Two requires precise timing, as players must press the fire button at the right moment to guide the brush to a flashing arrow at the screen's bottom. Successful navigation awards 2,000 bonus points.

In Phase Three, the challenge intensifies as players can only paint boxes adjacent to completed ones, starting from the initial box. Finally, Phase Four involves guiding a cyan brush to trap pots by surrounding them, avoiding their colors and the screen's edges. Players earn 500 points per trapped pot, with increasing difficulty in subsequent attempts.
