Adventurer #08: Раскрутка - руководство по игре с динозаврами

(C) DAVOS SOFT

WHERE TIME STOOD STILL

Jaret and Clive were fleeing from a dinosaur towards the swamp. Getting tangled in the bushes, Clive fell into the dinosaur's clutches. Jaret ran to the village of the savages, naively hoping to extinguish the vile creature with their help. But in the village, Jaret faced a big disappointment: the savages turned out to be nasty brutes and started throwing spears at the valiant pilot! Without thinking long, Jaret jumped into the river and swam downstream, sticking his tongue out at the dinosaur running along the riverbank. Soon the monster fell behind, and Jaret decided to climb ashore. But, as usual, he rushed a bit and ended up in the marshes instead of the desired shore... So that's the sad "end" of this little game. Although, you know, everything I wrote above is just a lyrical introduction... Well, let's get to the "assault"...

I don't think it's worth repeating the debut of this game from ADV#4. But just in case, I will name the items you should have after passing through the swamp. They are:
- a rope;
- a flask of water;
- a box of food;
- a bag;
- a first aid kit;
- a knife;
- a tickler from Dick;
- a beef leg (ex-pouch) from Gloria.

With these items, you can head to the village. In the village, with a keen eye, we spot a man standing in proud solitude. This is the chief of the local primates. I should immediately clarify that it's not necessary to bring the translator (Dick) with you to the villages, as he will only translate the phrases of the local bosses. But I digress... So, the chief will greet our heroes, calling them "fools from the sky," and will inform them that their village can supposedly provide travelers with rest and food. At this point, a box of food appears. Quickly take the box and replace it with the beef leg. As a result, the chief roasts the beef leg over the fire and says that you should find a use for it yourself. Take the ham and go hunt the dinosaur.

The dinosaur can be killed in two ways:
- lure it to the village of the savages and kill the vile fossil with the help of the savages;
- shoot it yourself. This is done by standing in line with the dinosaur and firing a long burst at it. If you manage to kill the dinosaur, you will see a pile of bones that an archaeologist would be thrilled about, and if you miss... Well, let’s not dwell on the sad... After killing the dinosaur, run along the shore and find the remains of another plane. There, you will find a wrench (I still haven't figured out what it's for), ammunition (to replenish bullets), and dynamite. After taking all this stuff, go to the river - replenish your water supply, and head towards the path leading to the mountains. After walking for a while along the path, you will see a hairy hand sticking out of a hole in the wall. Take the ham out of your bag (if your guys haven’t chomped on it yet) and place it in front of the hand. The hand unnaturally bends, grabs the ham, and disappears. Slowly continue along the path, go behind the waterfall, and voila! - you are already on the other bank of the river!

It's too early to relax on this riverbank. Right behind the descent, a dinosaur is grazing. By the way, since we're on the subject of dinosaurs... On this riverbank (the right one), the wildlife is surprisingly diverse - pterodactyls, dinosaurs, nasty wild boars, some small armadillos... On the right bank of the river, there are two boxes of food: one in the savage's village and the other in a cave to the east (to the right). There is also a magical sphere on this bank. I still haven't figured out its purpose. It is located on some kind of bridge, a bit further from the village.

The residents of the second, eastern, so to speak, village are very bad homo sapiens. Here, it doesn't matter whether you have a translator with you or if he got lost somewhere. Spears will immediately fly at your people. If you decide to sneak a dinosaur into the village, it will be a big mistake, as the local savages see no significant difference between your people and dinosaurs. It may happen that some of your guys fall behind the group. Here’s what I mean: if Gloria has fallen behind your group, and you foolishly wandered into the second village inhabited by the bad savages, you will be told that Gloria is in their hands, and in general, she is toast. There is no way to save Gloria - on a small elevation, a couple of natives push Gloria from behind, and the lady flies into the abyss with heart-wrenching screams. How to save her?

There is also a swamp on the eastern bank of the river (by the way, located parallel to the swamp on the western bank of the river). This swamp can be bypassed on land or you can swim around it in the river. And finally, a bit more information... Not far from the lower waterfall, there is some structure that you can enter and shoot the running dinosaur from the windows. After you kill it, you need to run east towards the cliffs. In the cliffs, run up the path (WARNING: rocks are rolling down the mountain!!!). Upon seeing a turn to the left, turn. You find yourself on a mountain plateau. Two dinosaurs are running here: a big one and a small one. Look for a path leading into the mountains. The path is blocked by two lying stones that cannot be bypassed. Blow them up with dynamite - the way is clear. By the way, the stones have the nasty property of rolling down after the explosion, so make sure to get down from the path first. After climbing the path, send the small dinosaur to its ancestors, and everything will be hunky-dory!

That's all. Well, almost all. A few questions remain unclear:
- What are the wrench and magical sphere for?
- How to save Gloria?

Well, now it seems that’s definitely all...
