This article is not a subject of scientific research, but simply represents some flow of my thoughts and reflections. So, it is no secret that with the rampant decline in prices for PCs, especially for components, the Sinclair crowd has turned towards the accounting machine. Almost free prices and equally free software provide a clear advantage over the currently resting Spectrum programs. I will not urge you to stay on your platform, as I believe that the actions unfolding in the computer market are only beneficial for Sinclair enthusiasts. I will explain why. In my opinion, Sinclair has long outlived the time of users and lamers, primarily because not so long ago (a year or a year and a half ago) people completely abandoned the 48 tape Spectrum, and software sharply moved towards the 128+ disk drive, forgetting about those who were left behind. As a result, a worthy replacement did not emerge. Because of this, many Sinclair enthusiasts, remaining at a low level, some due to the charms of "graphics and music on PC," have now turned, if not to Pentiums, then at least to the trio. Well, as Vysotsky said: "And let the rats leave, soon damn it, they interfere with the reckless fight." I can immediately see the objection: "But who will remain on Sinclair?" I will answer. The most loyal will remain, who in the end, in my opinion, will unite, if not into one large group, then into two or three creative associations (like AMAZING, RUSH, CPU, etc.). Such a union will primarily provide a more professional approach to everything done on Sinclair + the productivity of all groups involved in such a "concern" will increase. Another important part of letting Sinclair enthusiasts go to other platforms is their use in the future. For example, for downloading information from the Internet, FidoNet, using other platforms as auxiliary ones for writing demos, screensavers, games on Spectrum, which is already being done, just look at ZX-Format. And thirdly, users who have left will not demand anything from the creative people of Spectrum. As a result, people will have more or less free time to implement their plans. I want to say that this newspaper is only a tribute to the "lower people," and therefore it has been decided that we will not typeset texts after issue 5 and leave the newspaper in the state it is or will be, as there is a catastrophic lack of time for developing the adventure genre and writing "The Dictator." For all questions (while there is still time) you can call 49-62-02 (except Thursday, after 18:00, ask for Maxim or Sasha).
