The Lower Caverns sprite sheet #3
The result of five years' work, updating/improving the graphics from the original Spectrum/SAM Coupé version of Manic Miner, adaptations of some sprites from the Bob McFarlane AGD remix, and some wholly new sprites, unique to The Lower Caverns. Most of the sprites have just 4 frames of animation (with some having unique frames for moving left/right or up/down), and most stick to the same 12-colour palette, though some caverns have adjusted palettes to allow for greater variety. Later additions to the new sprite selection, many for Phil Wilson's caverns. The Atari Jaguar, ET and Sock Puppet sprites are for a cavern which had its name changed to "It's definitely not Stonkers", in reference to a Spectrum forum meme, because the name I originally gave it was considered too contentious. Also lots more colour tweaks, including four versions of the telephone (one requiring palette swaps on-screen) and the slimmer version of the Flaming Barrels.
