The conversion is almost prefect 5/5 for that. But the image itself is poor so 3/5 ;)

Perhaps we should have different rating for conversions X original art.

You've got the point, Ricardo. We've discussed a more complicated voting system one day, having different criterias for different aspects of image: a quality of pixel art itself, original idea, composition, color solution. Or may be completely different rating for plain conversions. Or a different rating for original no-copy works. Or a different rating for copies heavily based on original references.

My opinion is that any further complication of voting system will reduce amount of votes. We don't have many votes in average. In face, at the moment there are:
88569 votes for pictures (8 votes for picture in average)
25029 votes for tunes (0.91 vote for tune in average)

So, if we make the voting more complicated, there would be even less opinions, and rating would be much less objective (and also we would have to gather all the votes from scratch).
If we make a separate top-100 rating for conversions, then we would have to decide, what's a conversion and what's not. I personally think that from the position of art, there is no point to measure an amount of conversion vs manual efforts. There is more point of measuring an amount of original work vs. references. And even this can't be clearly measured or splitted, so I've just decided to keep things as is and rely on the plurality of opinions via average vote result.
I think that the goal is to gather as much votes for each work as it's possible, so this would average the different priorities of different people and get us some more or less objective value. This somehow works in top-500 really, with some known error tolerance of course.

Moroz, I think it can be simple.

For example, we have Gigascreen images, but also monochrome images.
When voting we naturally take into account the format.

So we need to have the images marked as "conversion / non-original".
Perhaps add that the format list: "Standard 6912 - conversion".
That way we know how to vote on that case and the site works as is.

What if the conversion was a bit updated manually to look better? I can also tell that photo conversion and pixel art conversion are really different things.
Non-original is a bit another thing. A work can be drawn manually from scratch and still be non-original, let's not mix it.

I see that we can easily add some tag to such works and I can make some separate rating for such works. I can make some visual changes (like adding some kind of icon?). I can also exclude the images marked by this tag from some lists if required. Please advise - I'm ready to implement something, but I can't say I'm really interested to functionally design this feature by myself :)

I think that visible icons/tags will do.
I propose two icons/tags:

- faithful conversion (show the original image as it is - this image is as faithful conversion)
- enhanced conversion (when the image was cleaned up, recolored, new elements added, etc.)

The voting can continue as it is, no need to change.
